  • I ‘ve been trying to write a blog post since 3 days, but you can’t do that when you’re occupied with lots of work plus you’re tired and sleepy.

So any how, I just found time to write about things that are going around in my life (other than constant electric breakdowns).

I had been working on a start up company’s website lately (TimeSvr), and was at their office the whole yesterday, since there were things that needed to be completed and the best way was to interact with their team directly, they had offered me to come work at their place, since they know about the electric conditions of the city, but I had turned down their offer a couple of times, before giving up and finally going to their office, honestly and no buttering, I really enjoyed it there, not really the way I enjoyed at my last job, but it was fun, atleast they did not have any electric problem, even if it did happen their were UPS and standby generator, which reminds me I have to call the guy who repairs the generator, because mine isn’t functioning !

So what I was saying is that they have a brilliant team, not only is the management good, they have strong, and confident Virtual Assistants (Aides) too. Getting to know these people and helping them get the company a good online presence was a pretty good experience, not only that, I also got to know some tiny bits about Ruby on Rails, and I have been tempted to learn than too (desheikh thanks for that !). I’ve started to look for resources now.

I’d like to thank their staff for such a nice time, specially Osama Sehgol, Zulfiqar Ali Sheikh, Farheen Iqbal, Zaki Mohamed and Angel Bernadine.

    Thanks so much guys.

On the 1st of August 2008, my collugues had decided that we’d go and see ‘Wanted’, after we’re done with all the work that we had to do at office, and since, it was not much work that we’d have to stay back, every one agreed. At around 8pm, we reached ‘Capri Cinema’, which seemed like a crowded place with so many vehicles around it, but still, we tried getting tickets, and it turned out that the whole show had been booked by Habib Bank for it’s employees, which was a blow, and a lesson was learned, we should call in before going to the cinema..

We then headed for Nishaat cinema, to watch ‘Ramchand Pakistani’, even though we knew it would be a good production, given that it came from Mehreen Jabbar, but like many, we still had doubts in our little clumsy minds.. What we witnessed next, was one mind blowing movie, maybe mind blowing is not the right term for this kind of movie, and keep in mind, it’s for people, who would like to see some reality, and good dialogue delivery, it’s not a boom boom dishum kind of a movie, and you’ll not get to see any hot chicks dancing.. It’s a dramatic kind of a movie, and has the reality touch to it..

Oh and I almost forgot, we also got to meet that little kid who acts in the movie, since we got in to the first show in Karachi.

I would any how, suggest not to take minors to the movie, since the dialogues are some what harsh and abusive to be adopted by the little minds…

It’s for sure a moview worth watching and worth supporting.. Get this I watched it twice in two days, both times at the cinema. :)

I follow some good number of folks on flickr, and some of these people are truely gifted, as in super gifted. I’d like to show the images from some of these folks today. These are marvellous, and fairly recent.

First, these folks dont allow their pics to be embeded, so I followed the rules, and just linked to them.

    Teabreak related post

What’s so great about teabreak for me?

I started working on teabreak, once Zair had completed the initial design for teabreak, which was the last one with blue, green, gray and white shades in it..

I had a totally different view of how Teabreak should look and feel to a visitor, they should actually get that tea feeling we want them to have, so I had to come up with a new fresh piece, version 2 was born with a brown theme, more or less like tea or coffee.. a little wooden texture at the top, just to add a little table-ish feel to it.

Now that it’s on and working live, it feels great to be a part of the fresh air flowing in and around me, and the crew, it’s not just that Teabreak has gotten a little larger than it was a couple of months back, we’re also getting some hot reviews from the Industry’s big people, no really.. We’re not the first feed on AllTop Pakistan, just like that.

I think I feel great and proud being a part of this awesome new comer, and guess what, the people who work behind this are way talented than you think, (yes that means me too :P ).

It also feels really great when you see the people who are submitting their blogs so that they can reach a wider audience, and boy oh boy, it feels even great to see some very popular people signing up, and some people whom you know personally getting on very car you created.

Oh yes it feels awesome :D

On the other hand lies my PTCL land line, which is all f**ked up, and it ain’t working real good, rendering my DSL pretty much useless… I think I m going to get my DSL unsubscribed and get WiMax from Wateen instead.

It’s been one good journey with Maxcom, and I think it’s still one of the best DSL providers, but in the end PTCL doesn’t really do justice to it with it decade old freakin cables… Thank you PTCL bitches.

    updates

When you work in a company, no matter what department, you’re actually being paid for thinking, and finding solutions, because that’s what companies do, find solutions to what others can not.

Anyways, so the thing is, I work for a company that takes work super seriously though we keep the freedom and the spirit alive inside, and so the story is, I’ve been working quite a little extra, infact everyone from our department is like a workoholic right now, being a workoholic is normal for people in the design teams btw.

So the thing is I’ve been in the office for very long hours recently, so any of you folks, who I love and I’ve been away from you guys/gals, please know, I m caught up with work, I m not ignoring you.. I love you guys/gals.. ok for guys, not the wrong way, like Asim imtiaz would say, ‘in a pure brotherly fashion’.

Talking of Asim, I m also working with him and Zair on a new project, Tea Break, it’s gonna be a fun project, and more over it’s some kind of a thing, that the Pakistani IT industry more or less needs.

We have Asim, Ammar, Zair and me on this project, take a look at it here.

Oh and btw, I m hating my neighbours and PTCL, for my dead phone line ;(

    Much Love.

    Oh! It's good

It’s been a little while, since I actually scribbled something on my tiny little online journal, thought, I’d post some great things that have been happening in my life, lately !

Last Friday was Rashid’s Valima, (Rashid the network admin at Creative Chaos), any how, not only did it turn out to be a fun event, it happened to be my most favourite wedding, why, oh boy, I had lots of fun.. We planned to gift him with pranks, and boy we did good.. he’ll probably be very very happy !

I ran around the office collecting ‘chanda’ to fill up the gulak, that we got to gift him, and not only did we manage to fill it up, we actually had lots of money in it, no kidding ! And the event was awesome on it’s own.. We played around with the grooms on the Valima, yes there were more than one !

Any how, yesterday we went to Go-Aish, and adventure park, and I was around 50 feet above ground, with no land right under my feet, and only ropes, boy it was scary, super scary, no doubt bout it ! Buyt had fun, and I also met Fattah, and Abdullah after quite some time.. Looking forward for good times, once again !

Though I wouldn’t recommend going for the quad bikes or the paintball, they don’t have that much of a good setup and it’s costly. While on the other hand, the High rope long course, wall climbing are the interesting things.. Heart patients stay away !

    Happiness baby

Life seems to get better and better, I mean seriously, oh other than the work load that is :P

Not only am I very happy how things things are going around at my work place, I m also loving how things are going around otherwise, except that I get too tired to do almost anything when I get home from work, I mean yes it’s cause of the traffic jams..

Oh something interesting happened yesterday, I was on my way from work to home, and we stopped by at Dunkin Donuts, but after that, when I was only a few miles, and we stopped at a signal, I realized the girls in the next car were starting at me, my first thought was, why the hell am I being stared ? and when we moved forward, I realized, those girls were none other than Uzey and Iraj, haha.. yes it was funny, coz I ignored them at first, and then later realized, it was them.. they might’ve got a little pissed..

Any how, the ride home, got a little excited..

so much for a boring ride :P
