I logged in today into orkut, and voila, a new design, finally !
Incase you’re not aware, orkut had been going through a number of revisions internally, which finally showed off recently, when the folks at the core team of orkut, decided that they should go public with their new design, and boy it pleases me immensely !
Even the login page for the website is finally so beautiful. But for a lot of people, the old design may still be there, I mean they might not have got the new design, and that’s because the design is not totally rolled out, a couple of hours back I could see the design on my orkut account, but my sister’s account still had the old design, poor soul I teased her to be an old kid…

yep the new look is really cool… it’s putting the crap loaded UI of facebook to shame, though in functionality, facebook leaves orkut in dust !

Orkut’s new look was like i was smelling it, so i blogged about it a week or two back on my blog. Anyways its good to have a change~~

i dint know Orkut is life for some……i mean only kids are excited about it….a few days back my cousin came running to me and told me about the changes and everything els like power scrap stuff. I hope your a friend of my cousin who is 11 years old….

On a serious note, I suppose you fail to recognize, I m a designer myself, which may explain for my interest in any website design or redesigns that happen, to web places big or small..
I have nothing against being a friend to any 11 year old, I love people younger than me, they remind me of when I was their age, and to be honest, I love to see how kids grow up these days with all the tech surrounding them. I almost wish I had the same kind of life when I was their age. The excitement is good and should be there, you sir should’ve taken into consideration how small things can effect anything out there. Orkut maybe a life for some, for me, it’s merely a tool, but the redesign, I like it, we the designers have been waiting for the orkut team at google to do some polishing on their stale product, and the new design had very much made a lot of designers happy. That may explain a little bit to why I posted about it !
