When big things happen, they start to evolve other smaller things too, and by that I mean the art scene in Pakistan has quite flourished, and is growing day by day, in such an environment, things like this Artist get together take place, sometimes often, and sometimes in rare occasions.

What’s so nice about this is that since that last get together, the amount of people attending this event has almost doubled, on the next such get together, I plan to at least change the venue to accommodate more people, it’s no doubt that the last time only a handful of people turned up to attend the event, but this time these number have doubled, something I actually never thought would happen, the credit goes out to a lot of people, some of them are those who missed the first event altogether, so they’re making sure to get to this one, and so they’re also inviting their other artist friends to it too. Pretty neat, isn’t ?

Then from the people who attended the first one, are encouraging more people to turn up and join, that also very awesome.

About the event this time, almost 30 35 people have already signed up, which is quite nice for a very young event to be true. We may also have the band Gunaah, playing at the venue, which I suppose will be a treat for all of us.

I m sure it’s going to be one crazy, yet inspiring party for all artists to attend !

I m not in the so damn good state right now, have an allergy, and I m sneezing like anything cause of the dust.

Oh boy, even though this sneezing is making me insane, I should also admit, I m so happy, one of my awesome friends is here in Karachi, from Dubai, remember sometime back I mentioned, Najam flew to Dubai, well he’s back here for a week.

I m going to be meeting him on the 4th of August, the same day we have the Artist Get Together.

Now that I mentioned help, in the title, I do need a bit of assistance from anyone who can provide me some. I m looking for a software that can translate Arabic to Urdu, and vice versa, I m not going for an expensive one, anything below $200 would be okay. Keep in mind, I m looking for this for one of my friend’s relative, pretty distant .

Speed can be bad, and we’re all aware of the fact, but empty roads and late nights on weekends can leave the driver greedy for speed and thrust, and provided that the automobile can achieve higher speeds doesn’t mean that you should make it go for high speeds, it is indeed greed for more that is bad.

I experienced first hand, the tripping of a bus, while I was inside one, and it being the bus that tripped.

The driver tried to save some one who had suddenly started running across the road, he had to make some urgent and quick turns, that left the bus in an unstable state, first the bus swung on it’s sides and then collapsed on one side, that being said, I may not need to tell you that their were injuries and casualties, but fortunately, none that could be considered life threatening.

I on the first note am safe and sound, since I was not sitting, but standing and enjoying the music while the mishaps occurred, I was holding tightly to the support rod above, so I was safe, in fact most people who were standing were safe, something that’s not rare is the public buses of Karachi is crowd, yes they are very crowded most of the time, with people also hanging from the sides, luckily no one was hanging and the only people were the ones inside. I m safe and sound and in good health, except for a minor scratch that was caused due to the breaking of the glass, otherwise, all is well and good, as for the others, most of them are good (or so I hope), a few children had some minor injuries though, and one woman broke her leg (that’s what she was screaming).

I hope everyone is good otherwise and for those injured I hope and pray they recover soon.

May Allah protect and bless us all. It is no doubt that I m safe, because Allah wishes so.

Last month (16th June, 2007) I, along with the admin of the PakDeviants community on deviantart, organized an Artist Get together, the results were awesome, everyone looked forward for another meet up just like that one.

This time again, I’ve organized another Get together (4th August, 2007 - info), only this time it’s bigger than the last one, more people are showing up, gratitude goes out to all the folks who’ve spread the word, helped the group move forward and promote art.

Last time the participants not only made friends, but also got to know each other, we all settled for new projects that were to be done in collaboration, that is whoever was up for it ! We planned we’d do a website for the promotion of Pakistani talent (in art that is), and that it would not be a deviantart clone, no not at all. We also wanted to do a short film project, so we’d go for that too, this time around our main focus would be to bring out ideas, plan what it’s all going to be and how’s eveything going to be carried out.

I m expecting all the best from all those who participate, wish them best fo luck for whatever they are doing, and cheers to all those who’ve proved to be of significant importance in the Pakistani Art scene. Well wishes for all the new artists coming into this arena of brainstoring creative process.

One day, at a bus stop there was a girl who was wearing a skintight miniskirt. When the bus arrived and it was her turn to get on, she realized that her skirt was so tight she couldn’t get her foot high enough to reach to step.

Thinking it would give her enough slack to raise her leg, she reached back and unzipped her skirt a little. She still could not reach the step. Embarrassed, she reached back once again to unzip it a little more. Still, she couldn’t reach the step.

So, with her skirt zipper halfway down, she reached back and unzipped her skirt all the way. Thinking that she could get on the step now, she lifted up her leg only to realize that she still couldn’t reach the step.

So, seeing how embarrassed the girl was, the man standing behind her put his hands around her waist and lifted her up on to the first step of the bus. The girl turned around furiously and said, “How dare you touch my body that way, I don’t even know you!”

Shocked, the man says, “Well, ma’am, after you reached around and unzipped my fly three times, I kinda figured that we were friends.”

Sometimes, it’s just too amazing for me to notice, how much digital space we acquire to accommodate our data, which may or may not be useful.

I was looking around to free up some GB of space on my Hard disk drive, and notice that the partition with media files was filled up the most, and surprisingly the most space eating files were music videos, yep that’s M U S I C videos.

Then it was mostly work, but hell I had to burn a few DVDs to make space and save the data on plastic, okay plastic that can save my metal !

Any how, it’s also amazing how the Artist get together is coming along, recently we had the first get together and now we have one next month, early next month that is. If any of you artist in Karachi are reading this, head over to Get together signup page and get the details.

Love you all folks

My uncle (mamoo as we say in urdu) left for Dubai yesterday from where he’ll fly for London and then finally to Miami, where he lives, he was here for one of my cousin’s wedding, and the one thing I know, is he’s left us with some memories we can cherish, and talk about.

I know he’s a great man, a great supporter and appreciates every good being done.

It’s only a couple of hours since he’s left, and we all are already missing him a lot. If he ever reads this, “we all miss you ! Love you !”

Bad day, I know it’s one of those bad days fro me… I can smell it… Hell no, I can’t smell bad days, no one can ! Man it’s good and bad for me at the same time.

Guess what, My uncle got me some 1 GB of RAM, an HP super writer, and has promised me to get me a one year deviantart subscription.. how  cool is that ?

Further more, I m loving my iPod and the cam, they’re both awesome. It’s like I m going on a snapping spree while enjoying sounds and videos

I’ve also been handed a little cash to spend on whatever I like, and it seems I’ve already run out of it

The sad, bad, weird side though is that I got an upset tummy ! Yeah I m puking and letting all the liquid flow out of the wrong place

Mom’s away for a day, and I m not good at medicines, mom knows em well though !

I m off to sleep now ! for a couple of hours, got some recordings to complete later on !

Welcome to Karachi, sounds like everyone I know was a bachelor is getting imprisoned for a life time…marriage, yep that’s what I mean !

Anyhow, I’ve been caught up lately with my cousin’s marriage, I m sure the lucky man’s going to be proud and happy !

The marriage is also one of the reason’s why i m so busy and can’t update most of the stuff, btw a few of my relatives that lie across the globe are here to attend the wedding !

My iPod is rocking for now, and the camera works awesome, I m yet to get the 1 GB of RAM, and a deviantart subscription ! wohoo
